Team Leadership That Works: Designing, Launching & Coaching Great Teams is a practical, hands-on program that equips leaders to create the conditions for great team performance. Based on a robust, evidence-based team leadership framework developed by Harvard scholar-practitioners, this program equips leaders with practical tools for designing, launching and coaching teams. The program can be use in a number of ways, including as a stand-alone program; as a blended learning component in leadership development programs; and as the centerpiece of group coaching programs with team leaders.
As our world and operating environments evolve and become more dynamic, so too do our approaches to leadership and teams also require evolution. This program is unique in that it emphasizes creating an environment or ecosystem that gives rise to a great team. Leaders can't make teams be great, but they can put in place the 6 Conditions (Real Team, Compelling Purpose, Right People, Sound Structure, Supportive Context, Team Coaching) that evidence shows accounts for 80% of a team's ultimate results.
The course is taught by four seasoned instructors with decades of experience leading teams and coaching team leaders in a wide range of sectors, all over the globe:
- Dr. Ruth Wageman, a leading scholar-practitioner on teams, university lecturer at Harvard and Dartmouth and the author of Senior Leadership Teams: What It Takes to Make Them Great
- Harvey Floyd II, an organizational psychologist, a coach to senior executives, and a university lecturer at the Wharton School of Business, IE University and the US State Department's Foreign Service Institute.
- Gabe Abella, an organizational coach with decades of experience enabling teams and teams of teams in the finance and IT sectors. He has a passion for enabling agility in complex organizations at enterprise level scale.
- Dr. Krister Lowe, a social-organizational psychologist, podcaster, and team coach who has enabled leaders and teams in more than 30 countries around the globe including international organizations, corporations, non-profits, foundations, and in private equity and venture capital.
In addition to modules that equip team leaders to design, launch and coach any kind of team, the program includes a few special components:
- Team Diagnostic for Leaders: a well-researched, peer-reviewed online survey that provides team leaders with an assessment of his/her team's standing on the 6 Conditions framework; it also provides insights into the team leader's strengths and areas for development in leading the team.
- My Team's Design, Launch & Coaching Action Plan: an actionable plan that you can immediately use and apply to leading your team effectively.
- Team Leaders Toolkit and Demonstrations: a practical toolkit of exercises and activities that you can use to design, launch and coach your team to greatness, including video demonstrations of key tools.
